Surface| Summary: | A technique has been developed for synthesis of magnetic nanocomposites based on a magnetite coated with silicon dioxide, using tetramethoxysilane as a precursor. Density, structure, and magnetic properties of the nanocomposites were determined. The SiO2 surface layer weight fraction of nanocomposites increase from 0 to 0.5 g per 1 g magnetite has been found to result in drop in density from 4654.8 kg/m3 (for magnetite) to 2207.8 kg/m3, as well as and specific magnetization at saturation and non-monotonous change in the coercive force. |
