Zusammenfassung:The activities of food industry enterprises in Ukraine are aimed at implementing economic and social goals that create opportunities for sustainable development of the food sector. Crisis phenomena and problems of today require modern research to make important decisions at all levels. The article highlights the results of comprehensive research into the current state of affairs in the food industry in key aspects. The features of the current period that arose due to the conduct of hostilities in the country have been revealed. The essence of the concept of "business relocation", its necessity and positive aspects have been characterized, examples of relocated enterprises and options for their state support have been given. The dynamics of the number of operating enterprises and employed workers in the food production sector have been analyzed. The number of employees has decreased due to the departure of citizens outside the country, the destruction or closure of enterprises. The provision of qualified personnel and the effectiveness of management of the latter are an important factor in the functioning of production. Information on the volumes of products produced in monetary terms has been summarized, and a ranking of regions by the highest indicators has been formed. The beginning of the war caused a reduction in production. Later, the situation stabilized. The analysis of the indices of food, beverage and tobacco production in general and by individual industries has been conducted. The place of the food industry in the industry as a whole and in the processing industry has been determined. The problems of investing in the food industry have been highlighted, the dynamics of capital investments have been analyzed taking into account the indicators of the pre-war period and in the period from 2022. The food industry is an innovatively active industry, requiring a lot of funds for development, however, today enterprises mostly invest their own resources. Proposals have been formulated for the further development of the food industry, taking into account the Sustainable Development Goals of Ukraine for the period until 2030. The results of the research can be used to determine the state's food capabilities during martial law and to formulate tasks for post-war recovery.
