Резюме:The article examines the current state of innovation and investment activity in the agricultural business. The study of the innovation component has been carried out through the analysis of the dynamics and structure of expenditures on scientific research and development in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries. The trends in financing have been identified in the context of sectoral distribution. It has been proved that the research potential of the agrarian sector remains underutilized, and its development requires a transition from fragmented funding to systematic investment in innovation infrastructure. It was found that the structure of research funding in Ukraine is gradually transforming toward the applied and technological orientation. The general trends of capital investment in Ukraine have been identified. It has been established that the share of investments in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries maintains a positive dynamic, fluctuating within the range of 8–17%. The results of the analysis confirm that the structure of capital investments in these sectors remains stable, with a predominant focus on material assets. The interaction between the two key components of innovation and investment activity — research and capital formation — forms the foundation for technological renewal, competitiveness, and sustainable development of the agrarian sector. The effectiveness of innovation and investment activity of agricultural enterprises depends on the balanced development of the research potential, technological modernization, and a rational structure of capital investments. The main directions for improving the efficiency of innovation and investment activity in the agricultural business have been identified as follows: reducing technogenic and anthropogenic pressure on soils; developing production and marketing infrastructure; strengthening the material and technical base of enterprises; and stimulating farms to use land resources rationally.
