Food Industry Economics| Zusammenfassung: | The article examines information as a strategic resource that fundamentally shapes the competitiveness, resilience, and long-term development trajectories of enterprises in the digital economy. As artificial intelligence, big data analytics, cloud infrastructures, the Internet of Things, and platform-based ecosystems evolve at an accelerating pace, information itself becomes the central intangible asset that defines the quality of managerial decision-making, operational efficiency, and the organisation’s capacity to innovate. The study integrates attributive and functional theoretical perspectives in order to demonstrate that information both supports the structural organisation of economic systems and simultaneously enhances their adaptive capabilities. This dual role enables proactive management, predictive modelling, continuous improvement of business processes, and the creation of new data-driven products and digital services.
Empirical evidence highlights the expanding importance of the information sector in Ukraine. The stable contribution of the IT industry to national GDP, the steady rise in digital transformation indices across regions and communities, and the country’s strengthened performance in global rankings of e-government, digital public services, and innovation development indicate the formation of a progressively mature digital ecosystem. The findings confirm that information capital forms the core of the emerging knowledge-based economy, while the ability of enterprises to accumulate, analyse, integrate, secure, and strategically apply data becomes a decisive factor of sustainable competitive advantage.
The article concludes that the development of advanced data-management infrastructures, the enhancement of organisational digital maturity, and the implementation of intelligent analytical technologies represent essential prerequisites for accelerating innovation, supporting strategic resilience, and ensuring the sustainable growth of enterprises in conditions of global digitalisation. |
