Summary:A brief review has been made on recent articles devoted to synthesis of hybrid carbon-mineral sorbents. Novel sorption compositions on the base of specially modified carbonaceous constituent (ACF-M) and palygorskite (Ultrasorb), carbon KAU, elamine (Carboxicam) or Black Sea marine sediments (Carbodon) have been elaborated. An opportunity has been shown to control structural, sorption, bactericidal, and rheological properties of the combined materials due to use of the components of various nature, origin, change in their ratio in the composite, application of compositions. The outlook has been discussed for the use of sorbents in medicine.
