Summary:Nanocomposites of TiO2/SiO2 and ZrO2/SiO2 were prepared by chemical modification and investigated by X-ray diffraction analysis, thermogravimetry and low-temperature desorption of argon. TiO2/SiO2 and ZrO2/SiO2, containing 2 and 5 wt. % metal dioxide, were used as thickeners of greases based on polyethylsiloxane PES-5. It is shown that the additives of nanotubes, molybdenum disulfide and expanded graphite improves the lubricating properties of such compositions.
