Description
Summary:The adsorption-desorption properties of natural basalt tuff samples from different Ukrainian deposits (Polytskoye II – N-BT(1) and N-BT(1)* and Berestovetskoye – N-BT(2)) as well as their chemically modified forms (Н?BТ-6 and Pd(II)-Cu(II)/Н-BТ-6) have been studied with respect to water vapor. All of the samples have a nonuniform porous structure with the prevalence of transition pores. The water vapor adsorption at T = 294 К in P/PS range < 0.6 is described by BET equation. Adsorption parameters am, a?, and С(Q1), increase for the systems of the same type in the sequences: N-BT(1)< N-BT(1)*< N-BT(2); H-BT(1)-6< Н??BT(1)*-6< Н-BT(2)-6; Pd(II)-Cu(II)/ Н?BT(1)?6< Pd(II)Cu(II)/Н?BT(1)*-6< Pd(II)?Cu(II)/Н-BT(2)-6. The H-BT(1)-6 sample is preferred as a support for Pd(II) and Cu(II) acidocomplexes catalyzing CO oxidation by air oxygen because of the low water adsorption by that sample.
