HISTORY AND PRESENT Skryptun, Igor Zakharchenko, Mykola Koval, Larysa inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, electrochemistry, physical-chemical analysis, chemical school. In 2025, «Ukrainian Chemical Journal» will celebrate a landmark event –the 100th anniversary of its founding. The history of the magazine for the period of the XX and first years of the XXI century, the names of the responsible editors, the editorial boards in different years and the names of individual authors, prominent chemists of Ukraine are highlighted on its pages. Such a solemn event –– the centenary anniversary of the journal – gives an opportunity to look back, restore in the memory of prominent scientists-chemists of different generations, who were even today the most active authors, patriots of the journal, whose publications, experimental articles and reviews (retrospective, current, reviews-forecasts) raised and held high the authority of the journal and how in the mirror reflect the development of research in various fields of fundamental and applied chemistry in our country. The journal reflects the achievements of chemical scientists in almost all branches of modern chemistry and partly chemical technology, and is available not only to venerable scientists, but also to beginners – graduate students and applicants. More than one generation of chemical scientists has grown up on its publications, of whom the chemical science of Ukraine is still proud today. The first editor-in-chief of the journal was Professor, later Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR K. Krasusky, then, the editor-in-chief of the journal was Professor M. Valyashko, a recognized chemist-pharmacist in Ukraine; subsequent editors – academicians of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR A. Dumanskyi, Ye. Shylov, A. Babko, Yu. Delimarskyi, O. Horodyskyi; from 1992 to 2015, Academician of the NAS of Ukraine S. Volkov, then (from 2016 to 2024) V. Pekhnyo. Today, the editor-in-chief of the journal is Doctor of Sciences (Chemistry) S. Solopan. In this anniversary year, it is especially pleasant to wish the editor-in-chief and the editorial board of the Ukrainian Chemical Journal new creative successes in the promotion of scientific achievements in the field of chemistry, to wish more publications from talented authors who, through their works, articles, and reports, convey to their students, followers, and readers a share of their creative inspiration and love for science, for chemistry, and for Ukraine!
