Description
Summary:At a pressure of 8 GPa and a temperature of 1700 ˚C, diamond crystals were synthesized in the Mg–Zn–B–C system, chemical purification of the synthesis product was carried out, and the resulting diamond powder was classified by grain size. The morphometric properties of mixtures of coarse and fine diamond powders synthesized in the Mg–Zn–B–C system before and after exposure to high pressure were investigated, the influence of the composition of the initial mixtures on the degree of their grinding under the action of high pressure and its correlation with the level of compaction of the formed polycrystals from the specified mixtures under the further action of high temperature was considered. It is shown that an increase in the average size of the initial powder from 5 to 30 μm causes an increase in the degree of its grinding by 6 times, which leads to compaction of the powder at the stage of high-temperature sintering at a pressure of 8 GPa and a temperature of 1800 oC to the level of 99%.
