Summary:The issues of creating new designs of single-layer diamond crowns, differing in an odd number of radial rows of diamonds in the sectors and ensuring a reduction in unit loads on single diamond cutters are considered. It is proposed to use the adjacent sectors of the diamond-bearing matrix of the drill bit with different diamond layouts and different numbers of radial rows. The results of computer simulation of a similar diamond crown are given. It is shown that the uneven loading of individual diamonds in the single-layer crown sector decreases with a decrease in the number of radial rows. The best from this point of view for crowns with an odd number of radial rows in the sector is the use of three radial rows. The prospects of their use in drilling exploration wells are shown.
