description The aim of the work is to identify promising areas of research in bioenergy to expand potential types of technologies and sectors for the implementation of bioenergy projects in Ukraine. Current research topics of the Bioenergy Program of the International Energy Agency are analyzed, and some of the obtained results are considered. Special attention in the studies within the Program is paid to the issues of sustainable development, decarbonization of energy, and circular economy. The results of almost all the studies are important and relevant for Ukraine. They show promising areas for further research and development, as well as help to identify new types of potential bioenergy projects. At present, Ukraine has already implemented a large number of bioenergy projects in the industry at enterprises that have biomass raw materials as a by-product of the main production. Examples of such enterprises are oil extraction plants, sugar factories, woodworking enterprises. But there are many companies not provided with their own biomass that would like to reduce their carbon footprint by switching to renewable energy. Technical and organizational solutions for mobilizing biomass for energy studied within the IEA Bioenergy’s inter-task project “Bioenergy for high temperature heat in industry” may be very useful to these enterprises.

Целью работы является определение перспективных направлений исследований в биоэнергетике для расширения потенциальных видов технологий и секторов для внедрения биоэнергетических проектов в Украине. Проанализированы текущие темы исследований Программы «Биоэнергетика» Международного Энергетического Агентства, рассмотрены некоторые из полученных результатов. Особое внимание в исследованиях Программы уделяется вопросам устойчивого развития, декарбонизации энергетики, экономике замкнутого цикла. Результаты практически всех работ являются важными и актуальными для Украины. Они показывают перспективные направления для дальнейших научно-исследовательских и опытно-конструкторских работ, помогают идентифицировать новые виды потенциальных биоэнергетических проектов. На сегодня в Украине уже реализовано большое количество проектов по получению энергии из биомассы в промышленности на предприятиях, имеющих биомассовое сырье как побочный продукт основного производства. Примерами таких предприятий является маслоэкстракционные заводы, сахарные заводы, предприятия деревообрабатывающей промышленности. Однако существует много предприятий, не обеспеченных собственной биомассой, которые хотели бы уменьшить свой «углеродный» след и перейти на использование возобновляемых источников энергии. Технические и организационные решения по привлечению биомассы для энергетических нужд, исследованные в рамках Программы «Биоэнергетика» МЭА по тематике «Получение высокотемпературных теплоносителей из биомассы в промышленности», могут быть полезными этим предприятиям. Метою роботи є визначення перспективних напрямків досліджень в біоенергетиці для розширення потенційних видів технологій і секторів для впровадження біоенергетичних проєктів в Україні. Проаналізовано поточні теми досліджень Програми «Біоенергетика» Міжнародного Енергетичного Агентства, розглянуто деякі з отриманих результатів. Особлива увага в дослідженнях Програми приділяється питанням сталого розвитку, декарбонізації енергетики, економіці замкненого циклу. Результати практично всіх робіт є важливими і актуальними для України. Вони показують перспективні напрямки для подальших науково-дослідних і дослідно-конструкторських робіт, допомагають ідентифікувати нові види потенційних біоенергетичних проєктів. Наразі в Україні вже реалізовано велику кількість біоенергетичних проєктів у промисловості на підприємствах, що мають біомасову сировину як побічний продукт основного виробництва. Прикладами таких підприємств є олійноекстракційні заводи, цукрові заводи, підприємства деревообробної промисловості. Але існує багато підприємств, не забезпечених власною біомасою, які хотіли б зменшити свій «вуглецевий» слід і перейти на використання відновлюваних джерел енергії. Технічні та організаційні рішення по залученню біомаси для енергетичних потреб, досліджені в рамках Програми «Біоенергетика» МЕА по тематиці «Отримання високотемпературних теплоносіїв з біомаси у промисловості», можуть стати в нагоді цим підприємствам.
