За допомогою байєсівського апарату та ланцюгів Маркова побудовано процедуру розпізнання фрагментів генів в ДНК з високим відсотком розпізнавання — 80–90 %. Показано застосування моделі ланцюгів Маркова першого порядку для розпізнавання фрагментів генів геному організму Caenorhabditis Elegans. V.M.
