In the future, the recovery of Ukraineʼs economy will demand the use of innovative technologies based on intellectual property objects. When forming an intellectual property portfolio, which is the basis of an innovative project, such issues as the validity of the project, the scope of property rights and the market value of property rights to objects of intellectual property rights that are the basis of the project should be taken into account. It is obvious that the issues of intellectual property assessment and the issue of royalty rate formation will also be relevant. A brief overview of approaches to the assessment of objects of intellectual property rights, algorithms for the application of these approaches is given. The work provides specific examples of innovative project management, based on the experience of US universities, for three hypothetical developments in the creation of a genetic vaccine, an innovative laboratory product — ion chromatography, and a spare part for a car — a catalytic converter. The stages of commercialization are considered, from conceptual to the stage of production preparation and market entry. The importance of legal support at each stage of the project is also emphasized.
