By the method of physical modeling, the processes of heat transfer between the solidified metal and the caster mold during continuous casting of steel are studied. The laws governing changes in the amount of heat transferred from the liquid metal to the solidified crust, from the surface of the workpiece to the wall of the mold and from it to the cooling water are established. Practical recommendations are proposed for increasing the efficiency of heat transfer for the indicated stages of heat transfer from the solidifying metal to the cooling water. |
