A scheme of the technological process is proposed in which the duration of the electroslag heating of the casting must be set according to the kinetics of shrinkage of the melt in the head – in theabsence of the displacement of the electrode, the heating should be stopped. Досліджено вплив процесу спрямованого затвердіння чавунних прокатних валків в комбінованих кокільно-піщаних формах на кінетику об’ємної усадки масивних виливків із високоміцного чавуну. Запропоновано схему технологічного процесу, у якому тривалість електрошлакового обігріву виливка необхідно встановлювати по показнику кінетики усадки розплаву у надливі – при відсутності переміщення електрода обігрів припиняють.
