Casting Processes| Резюме: | The use of modern methods of mathematical modelling of foundry technology and current computer capabilities makes it possible to bring the methodology for determining the charge and adjusting the chemical composition of the melt directly in the process of metal melting to a qualitatively new scientific and technical level. The article analyses various approaches to calculating the charge for smelting iron and steel and methods for adjusting the percentage of chemical elements in the melt of these and other alloys directly during their smelting. The advantages and disadvantages of the most commonly used methods of charge calculation are considered. The article evaluates the methods of optimising the composition of the charge for smelting cast iron in induction furnaces, intended for the manufacture of critical foundry products. Examples of solving the problem of calculation and optimisation of the charge are given, provided that the total cost of the charge components is used as an economic criterion for the efficiency of the calculated charge composition and this criterion is minimised. In solving this problem, the simplex linear programming method is most often used. It is shown that one of the main problems in solving the problem under consideration is the uncertain chemical composition of charge materials. This applies primarily to scrap metal and ferroalloys. The known methods and computer programs developed for modelling the procedure of charge selection and controlling the chemical composition of iron or steel melt mostly do not take into account the instability of the chemical composition of charge materials. A promising direction for the development of the methodology for determining the charge and adjusting the melt is the use of approaches that take into account the probabilistic nature of the problem under consideration and the instability of the charge components in the probabilistic aspect. The application of the Monte Carlo method in charge calculations and melt composition adjustment is substantiated in order to take into account probabilistic estimates of the initial data on the ranges of the scatter of chemical elements in the materials from which the charge and melt adjustment ingredients are formed. An algorithm and a computer program for implementing such an ideology in solving the task are presented. |
