Резюме:Investment casting is a complex technological process that includes the manufacture of molds to obtain products with high precision and quality. An important part of this process is the selection of suitable materials for the manufacture of molds and their parameters, which include both binders and refractory fillers. At Ukrainian foundries ethylsilicate is used as a binder in the manufacture of ceramic molds, which has certain disadvantages. Considering the ecological aspects abroad, water-based colloidal silica is used as a binder. This article is devoted to determining the properties of ceramics and slurries prepared from aqueous binders and comparing their properties with ethyl silicate ceramics and slurries. The work studied slurries with fillers of electrocorundum, silica, disten-sillimanite and binders ethyl silicate, Remasol Premium Plus and silica sol. It was determined that in order to achieve the required viscosity of slurries with aqueous binders, a larger amount of refractory filler needs to be introduced. The covering capacity of ceramic slurries on three types of patterns - wax, polystyrene foam and plastic was studied. Slurries with Remasol Premium Plus showed satisfactory coverage of all types of patterns due to the presence of special additives in their composition, while slurries with silica sol unevenly covered wax patterns. Samples were made from four types of ceramics with different binders. The flexural strength of ceramics in the raw and fired state was determined. The flexural strength of ceramics with aqueous binders was in most cases higher than ceramics with ethyl silicate. In general, the Remasol Premium Plus binder can be recommended for use in precision casting shops, given its good technological properties.
