Резюме:Objective conditions that have developed at the present time in the industry of Ukraine, namely the reduction in the number of metallurgical enterprises, the reduction in the volume of production of metal products for the national economy, the lack of funds for the capital construction of new enterprises and the introduction of new technologies, which is especially important for the future post-war development of industry, require non-standard solutions. One of the options for such solutions is the reconstruction of the outdated or unnecessary existing technological park of equipment to meet the urgent needs of foundry production. In this article, based on the analysis and calculations, the possibility of using technological machines that use rolls as a working tool, in particular industrial calenders or rolling mills, for their conversion and reconstruction into two-roll casting and rolling machines that can subsequently be used in foundry production to obtain aluminum billets, is considered. The need for the Ukrainian metal products market to be supplied with thin aluminum rolled products, which is used in almost all industries, namely mechanical engineering, rocket and aviation technology, and the food industry, is currently very acute. This task can be successfully solved using modern twin-roll casting technology, which ensures the production of thin sheet metal directly from the melt. The technological process of twin-roll casting implements the most economical production of metal products in terms of material costs, provides a significant reduction in labor and energy costs. Along with the fact that capital costs for starting production will be limited by the funds required for the conversion and reconstruction of existing industrial equipment, it will be possible to obtain maximum economic benefits and save time for starting production. Along with these advantages, twin-roll casting of aluminum will provide an optimal ratio of rolled product quality and its cost.
