Резюме:The production of high-quality castings with a high level of physical, mechanical and operational properties is the main task of foundry production, and this especially applies to the processes of melting of foundry alloys. To solve it, modern equipment and progressive melting methods must be used in melting departments, and when designing new and technically re-equipping existing foundries, an economic justification of both the choice of technological melting processes and the correctness of design calculations is mandatory. In the design of a melting department, the main design calculations relate to two main production sections: the melting section and the section for charging and preparing the charge. For the melting section, design calculations are carried out toensure coordination of the operation of the melting and forming equipment. The capacity of the furnaces and their number are calculated to ensure a sufficient amount of liquid metal for pouring molds on all forming streams. At the same time, the temperature of the metal in the pouring ladle when pouring molds must drop below the technologically permissible one. For the charge collectionand preparation section, calculations are made of the annual need for charge materials for each alloy. The article proposes optimization of design calculations for the smelting section and the charge collection and preparation section, which will ensure high-quality project implementation using a simplified methodology.
