Received 18.11.2021 UDK 669.18-146:546.3 By creating of modern machinary and equipment it is using the unique massive steel ingots (up to 600 tons), wich it is mading from the large bellows ingots. The processes crystallization of large ingots are accompaning by the processes of forming of chemical and physical heterogenity in them, irragular distribution of non-metallic inclusions, impurities and other defects. The lowering of the quality of large ingots on the stage of crystallization it is stiputated by simultaneous course of many physicochemical, hydrodynamic and thermophysical processes by passage steel from liquid in solid state. In this period of solidification in ingot it are formating many defects, which impossible to eliminate during further technological operations of products from it. Processes of making the massive steel ingots are complex and insufficiently are stadied, which it is connection which complexity of fylfilment such research and the limited number of publications on their results. The study of the processe of structure formation and crystallization of large ingots and the development of the ways of control them is actual problem of modern steelmaking.
