The values ranged between 0.7 and 8.1 × 106 cells·ml-1. Three distinct periods were recognized in the bacterial dynamics: increase in the bacterioplankton numbers from 1966 to 1988; their high variability in 1992 to 2003; their gradual in 2004 – 2007 down to the values observed in late 1970s and early 1980s. The revealed cyclic indicates a high ecological capacity of the Bay and its capability for stabilization and recovery as a result of reducing anthropogenic pressure. |
