Marine Ecological Journal| Zusammenfassung: | The new approach to study of age structure of the Black Sea sprat is offered, which allow to get operatively the necessary information in real time. For calculation of the average sizes and relative number of different age (annual) classes of the sprat the normal distributions in sizes of two years old specimens, as most numerous and completely submitted in catches, were used. Expected reliability of the difference between values of the average sizes of the two years specimens and their relative number, received with the help of the offered approach and a traditional one (study of specimens age with otoliths), were calculated. The difference was doubtful on both parameters for a significance level more than 0.05. |
