Поліхета Marenzelleria neglecta харчувалася в Віслінской затоці як збираючий детритофаг. Hediste diversicolor в експерименті волів споживати мулисті опади, у заростьовому біотопі харчувався майже виключно макрофітами, в інших умовах фільтрував мікроводорості з придонного шару води. Отримані дані підтверджують високу харчову пластичність обох видів і свідчать про те, що перемикання на конкретний тип харчування визначається не тільки доступністю харчового ресурсу.
