Hediste diversicolor prefers to consume silt at experimental conditions, feed mostly on macrophytes in biotope with aquatic vegetation and filtered microalgae from near-bottom water layer in other condition. Our data confirm а high level of feeding plasticity of both polychaete species and support conclusion, that switching of feeding mode is defined not availability of feeding resource only. Поліхета Marenzelleria neglecta харчувалася в Віслінской затоці як збираючий детритофаг. Hediste diversicolor в експерименті волів споживати мулисті опади, у заростьовому біотопі харчувався майже виключно макрофітами, в інших умовах фільтрував мікроводорості з придонного шару води. Отримані дані підтверджують високу харчову пластичність обох видів і свідчать про те, що перемикання на конкретний тип харчування визначається не тільки доступністю харчового ресурсу.
