For the effective work scientist needs as its own data as access to the interdisciplinary oceanographic data collected by the IBSS, different documents and scientific publications produced by the institute, data of other organizations in Ukraine and abroad, collected by the world, regional, and thematic data centers. It is proposed to solve the problem of the information support of the scientific research by creation of the universal computer system of collection, quality control, processing, visualization, and archiving of data and information. The block-schema of the proposed system and description of already developed modules and modules under development are presented. Розглянуто особливості інформаційного забезпечення сучасного морського науково-дослідницького інституту на прикладі Інституту біології південних морів Національної академії наук України (ІнБПМ НАНУ). Відмічено, що для ефективної роботи вченому окрім даних, що отримані в результаті власних досліджень, необхідний доступ до міждисциплінарних океанологічних масивів, що накопичені ІнБПМ, до документів і наукових публікацій інституту, до даних інших організацій, як в Україні, так і за її межами і даним, що накопичено світовими, регіональними та тематичними центрами даних. Пропонується вирішувати задачу інформаційного забезпечення науково-дослідницької роботи шляхом створення комплексної комп'ютерної системи збору, контролю, обробки, візуалізації та зберігання даних і інформації. Приведено принципову схему запропонованої системи і опис ряду модулів, що вже існують та розробляються.
