Zusammenfassung:The contents of heavy metals (Pb, Zn and Cu) in different age thalli of brown algae Cystoseira barbata C. Ag. and C. crinita (Desf.) Bory, growing in the upper sublittoral zone of the Novorossiysk Bay are studied. In thalli of Cystoseira till one year the maximal concentration of lead, zinc and copper are found out. In morphostructural elements of plants from 2 till 5 years the content of heavy metal on the average twice below and slightly varies. In branches of Cystoseira contains more lead, in trunks contains more copper and zinc. The tendency of decrease of content Pb, Zn and Cu at both species of algae in a gradient from highly polluted to clean water areas is noted. As objects-monitors of pollution of coastal water areas of the Black sea with heavy metals is recommended to use species of algae in view of their morphostructural organizations and age of thalli.
