Резюме:New geometric models were used for calculating biovolumes and surface areas of three Neoceratium species: N. furca, N. fusus, N. tripos. Cell sizes was obtained during phytoplankton monitoring in 2008 – 2010 near Sevastopol shore (SW Crimea, Black Sea). Proposed models took into account cells theca breadth and more precisely approximates the shapes of C. furca and C. fusus hypotheca. To use the models from 10 till 13 cell’s measurements were needed. Proposed optimization allow decreasing necessary measurement till 2 – 6. The errors of obtained results were not exceed 8 – 26 % (for biovolumes) and 9 – 17 % (for surface areas).
