Marine Ecological Journal| Резюме: | The peculiarities of Modiolula phaseolina (Phillippi, 1844) in the Black Sea have been described. The species dominates in the band of depths, adjacent with the hydrogen sulfide zone. Not only M. phaseolina community, but also enclaves of accompanying species communities, playing the role of dominants in locations of rarefied phaseolina habitations are present in “phaseolina silt” (60-120 m) zone. Possible ecological reasons, limiting the width of phaseolina community belt are being discussed. This community is the last macrobenthic one in the zone of growing hypoxia, near the sulfide zone boundery. Only meio- and microbenthos communities are located more deep. |
