Temperature is a global climatic factor influencing (forcing) directly and indirectly on food supply of small pelagic fishes of the Black Sea. Оцінювали довгострокову динаміку вмісту жиру, що є індикатором забезпеченості їжею, у чорноморських шпроту та камси в залежності від температури води, концентрації фітопланктону, запасів та уловів цих видів риб. Температура є глобальним кліматичним фактором, що прямим або непрямим чином впливає на забезпеченість їжею дрібних пелагічних риб. Серед регіональних факторів, які впливають на стан шпроту та камси можна відзначити харчову конкуренцію, річковий стік та забруднення водяного середовища.
