The appearance of the species in the water area with sand and sand silt is interesting and needs further investigation. У роботі представлена інформація про знахідку горбаня темного Sciaena umbra (Linnaeus, 1758) у Джарилгацькій затоці у 2016 році. Відомо, що цей вид більш характерний для морських акваторій з твердим дном. Поява виду в акваторії з піском та піщаним мулом є цікавою та потребує подальшого вивчення.
