Данi про мiсця реєстрації ланцетника Branchiostoma lanceolatum в бенталi Чорного моря показують, що вiн зустрiчається уздовж захiдного та пiвденного берегiв Криму, а також уздовж берегiв Болгарії. На глибинi 20 – 21 м вiн мiсцями утворює скупчення щiльнiстью 1100 екз/м2. Бiля Севастополя спостерiгали тварин довжиною 5 см i вагою 150 мг. Ознаки пригнiчення популяції за останнi десятилiття не спостерiгали.
