Description
Summary:The success of Institute for Energy Technology’s (IFE) introduction of Virtual Reality (VR) in refueling operation and maintenance training at Leningrad NPP has been recognized by Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant (ChNPP). It is clear that VR may play an important role as a tool for visualizing the dismantling of the three intact reactors at ChNPP. IFE and ChNPP are now establishing the Chernobyl Decommissioning Visualization Centre to be used for planning and training the dismantling procedures in addition to presenting it to the authorities and the public. It will be ready in 2007. The first scenario will be the dismantling of the refueling machines.
