During operation and handling a damaging of nuclear fuel is occurred. In this reference a great importance is the issue of separation of and developing of storage methods for damaged nuclear fuel.
In the paper the classification and categorization of a damaged fuel of Chornobyl NPP, the results of investigation of fuel rods cladding integrity during storage in the decay pools, and the methods of detection of damaged fuel after long-term storage are discussed.
Some recommendations on using of inspection and testing methods of spent nuclear fuel of Chornobyl NPP with purposes of further dry storage are given in the paper. |
