Nuclear and Radiation SafetyРезюме: | The mathematical model of dynamics of radionuclide release from the protective containers into host geological massif has been developed for the deep disposal of vitrified high-level radioactive waste. According to this model, the comparable efficiency estimation of high-activity waste isolation for two variants of container construction, in particularly, steel and dense corrosion- and radiation‑resistant ceramics, has been realized. The considerable advantage of ceramic container in comparison with steel container was shown. The capacity of long-lived radionuclide containment has confirmed the perspectives of the ceramics as a barrier material. |
