It is shown that the approaches to assessing conditions of steam and gas explosions do not consider significant dynamics of processes at early stages of a severe accident, and “rapid” scenarios with collapse of protective safety barriers. An alternative method for assessing the conservative conditions of steam and gas explosions in severe accidents in reactors is proposed. It is based on the theory of instability, taking into account the essential dynamics of processes and a “chain” detonation of hydrogen from steam explosions. |
