Резюме:A quantitative evaluation of dynamic validation results for the thermal hydraulic model developed in the framework of the periodic safety review for Rivne NPP Unit 3 (WWER-1000/320) for the RELAP5/mod3.2 code was carried out. The incident with pressurizer safety valve opening that occurred on 22 September 2009 was chosen as a representative event. At the beginning of the incident, the power unit was in hot shutdown state, all main coolant pumps were stopped and core cooling was provided by natural circulation at a very low flow rate (decay heat is very low after refueling), the systems performed according to the design and safety trains were in standby. The Fast Fourier Transform-Based Method (FFTBM) was used for the quantitative evaluation. This method allows not only quantitative evaluation based on individual values, but also analysis of validation results in general and discrepancies between measurement and prediction in the frequency domain. This paper outlines FFTBM application to quantify the accuracy of the RELAP5/mod3.2 code thermal hydraulic model.
