Резюме:In the nuclear power industry, there are issues that may cause common-cause failure of the essential service water system (ESWS). Underground pipes at NPPs have hardly been examined not only in Ukraine also in the world, although the internal and external condition of the ESWS piping is important to ensure safe operation. In this regard, it is necessary to carry out technical examination of NPP ESWS piping that has exhaust design life and is subject to further operation. To determine the possibility of examining inaccessible NPP piping, the experience in applying modern tools for inspection of oil, gas and product pipelines using available techniques has been analyzed. The analysis of these techniques and the review of national and international experience suggest that technical examination of NPP group A essential system piping is possible.
