| Summary: | According to standards and rules on nuclear and radiation safety (NRS) in force in Ukraine, safetyrelated equipment should be qualified to perform its functions in “harsh” environmental conditions resulting from designbasis accidents and during and after seismic impacts. The efforts on Rivne-1, 2 equipment qualification are the first experience of Ukraine in the implementation of such a complex and laborintensive activity. The basic stages and status of Rivne-1, 2 equipment qualification as of mid2011 and problematic aspects revealed during state NRS reviews of RNPP reports are presented in this paper. |
