Summary:The paper considers the basic provisions of the new radiation safety system of the International Commission for Radiological Protection (ICRP) related to technology-enhanced naturally-occurring radiation sources for planned exposure situations. A&nbsp;comparative analysis of the IAEA Basic Safety Standards and current Ukrainian regulatory framework is carried out. Results of measurements and evaluations of potential exposure to the public resulting from waste with high content of natural radionuclides are provided.
