Nuclear and Radiation Safety| Summary: | The influence of radiation on the human and actions related to liquidation of consequences resulted from Chornobyl NPP unit 4 accident is considered in this article. Realistic and mythical consequences of the exposure are shown. Basic methodological approaches to forming radiation safety standards were proposed. The conclusion was made that the radiation safety standards shouldn't take for a basis the linear nonthreshold model, and provisions, which are included in the exposure regulation, should take into account socially-psychological perception by the society of the activity related to radiation sources. |
