Nuclear and Radiation SafetyРезюме: | The paper is devoted to an analysis of the one scenario for passive NPP protection against severe accidents, which was already implemented on a few Scandinavian NPPs. In the third generation reactors the passive systems for NPP protection against severe accidents are mandatory. Therefore this work is important for the nuclear power safety. The two limit cases have been considered here. First, when a vessel rupture is small, a corium melt jet is thin and due to this it is prone to some bending perturbations disintegrating a jet into separate peaces. Then, during the late phase of a severe accident, when a reactor rupture grows, a melt jet is thick and its spreading peculiarities in a pool change. The mathematical models developed and the modeling of a corium jet penetration into a water pool under reactor vessel present some important data for construction of the passive protection systems at NPP against the severe accidents with a core melting down. |
