Summary:In previous years, the activities of the mobile radiological laboratory included not only participation in emergency preparedness and response exercises, but also cases of responding to events on which the health and peace of the public depended. The article briefly describes the capabilities of the mobile radiological laboratory, its main and auxiliary equipment, gives examples of the main activities of the laboratory crew and its use as an emergency response tool jointly with decision support systems used by the SSTC&nbsp;NRS to project the progression of events during an accident. SSTC&nbsp;NRS experience in the use of the mobile radiological laboratory allows obtaining reliable data on the current radiation situation, searching for radiation sources in public places, identifying radionuclides, as well as confidently using the data obtained by the onboard and portable equipment of the mobile laboratory as feedback for planning actions in case of an accident.
