Висвітлено питання історії інтродукції численних видів роду Cornus L. як декоративних, лікарських і плодових рослин в Євразії та Північній Америці. Проаналізовано стан та перспективи селекції виду Cornus mas L. Наведено результати селекційної роботи з цим видом в Україні.
