Розглянуто сучасний стан охорони рідкісних і зникаючих видів рослин ex situ в Україні та за кордоном. Намічено основні завдання і шляхи її вдосконалення. Найперспективнішими методами охорони рідкісних і зникаючих видів ex situ визнано моделювання інтродукційних популяцій у культурфітоценозах та закладання маточних плантацій за типом географічних культур.
