Chyzhankova, V.I. Ground-cover roses of the genus Rosa L. are procumbent shrubs with long shoots. Due procumbent form, they are able to cover the soil surface and are perspective for wide use. There are more 400 cultivars of ground-cover roses. The modern garden classifications of roses were analyzed in the article: the national classification of Ukrainian Institute of examination of cultivars of plants according to the method of examination cultivars of roses (Rosa L.) to difference, uniformity and stability, classification of American Rose Society (ARS) and World Federation of Rose Societies (WFRS). The place of the group of ground-cover roses was ascertained in the leading garden classifications. The ambiguous positions of national and international registration institutions to the group of ground-cover roses are shown. It was found that the classification of garden roses by Peter Beals is alternative and can be used as a basis for the unified classification of roses with included group of ground-cover roses. Ґрунтопокривні троянди (Rosa L.) – сланкі кущі з довгими пагонами. Завдяки сланкій формі вони здатні вкривати поверхню ґрунту і є перспективними для широкого використання. Сортів ґрунтопокривних троянд – понад 400. Проаналізовано сучасні садові класифікації троянд: національну – Українського інституту експертизи сортів рослин згідно з методикою проведення експертизи сортів троянди (Rosa L.) на відмінність, однорідність і стабільність, Американського товариства троянд, Всесвітньої федерації товариств троянд. Визначено місце групи ґрунтопокривних троянд у провідних садових класифікаціях. Висвітлено неоднозначне ставлення до групи ґрунтопокривних троянд з боку реєстраційних органів – національного та міжнародного. Встановлено, що альтернативою існуючим є садова класифікація троянд P. Beales, яка може бути покладена в основу уніфікованої садової класифікації троянд з обов’язковим включенням до неї групи ґрунтопокривних троянд з відповідною офіційною назвою. M.M.
