Grishko in the development of scientific horticulture in Ukraine in the 20th century. Pomological collection of seed and stone fruit varieties thanks to activity of the outstanding home scientists. The best of these plants were used for industrial plantations and became the basis for new hybrids. Academician M.F. Kashchenko made a valuable contribution to introduction and acclimatization of southern fruit cultures: peach apricot and cherry-plum. Academician M.M. Grishko was an active participant and initiator of the National Botanical Gardens creation the garden which is the scientific research institution and the Centre of Botanical-public education in Ukraine. |
