It has been revealed that the differences in seed characteristics help to separate the Begonia at species level. За допомогою сканувального електронного мікроскопа досліджено мікроморфологічні особливості будови насінини 12 видів роду Begonia, які належать до 6 секцій. У 9 досліджених видів, які належать до 4 секцій, прослідковуються мікроморфологічні особливості, характерні для анемохорних бегоній, тоді як у B. dregeі виявлено особливості будови, характерні для гідрохорних видів. Установлено, що особливості будови насінини можна використовувати для визначення бегоній на видовому рівні. M.M.
