Досліджено динаміку вмісту фракцій неструктурних цукрів та розчинних білків у листках видів роду Chaenomeles Lіndl. протягом вегетації. Встановлено залежність їхнього кількісного складу від фази сезонного розвитку рослин та гідротермічних факторів району інтродукції. За умов водного і температурного стресу значно зростає кількість осмотично активних речовин – лабільних форм білків та вуглеводів, які виконують протекторну функцію і підвищують стійкість інтродуцентів до посухи та перегріву у степовій зоні України.
