З кореневої зони рослин пшениці ярої виділено активні азотфіксувальні бактерії родів: Azotobacter, Azospirillum, Bacillus, Flavobacterium, Enterobacter, Pseudomonas. Вивчено здатність діазотрофів до формування асоціативних систем з пшеницею ярою. Найсуттєвіше збільшення активності фіксації молекулярного азоту в кореневій зоні рослин відмічено при використанні представників роду Azospirillum.
