Summary:The paper presents the results of three year study of peculiarities of biological transformation of nitrogen in root zones of winter wheat under the influence of different doses of mineral nitrogen and bacterial preparations Polymyxobacterin and Diazofit. The reasonability for detection of environmentally safe doses of nitrogen fertilizers under the use of biological tests was shown. It was established that environmentally acceptable doses of mineral nitrogen are the ones not exceeding 60 kg/ha. The 90 kg/ha was shown to be the threshold dose. The use of microbial preparations had considerably improved the ecological conditions in agricenosis.
