Summary:The static problem of discontinuous loading of an elastic body with a periodic array of flexible inclusions is considered. The problem is reduced to solving a 2-D boundary integral equation of the second kind of the Newton potential type with respect to an unknown inclusion opening function. With the help of solutions of the equation, the static stress intensity factors mode I are determined and their dependences on the distance between defects, the contrast between the rigidity of the matrix and the inclusion, and the filling of cracks with the injection material are analyzed.
